The Good Food Box

ABOUT US

The Good Food Box is a volunteer non-profit, produce buying cooperative to help everyone to include more fresh fruits and vegetables in their meals.
The low cost of the Good Food Box is made possible because of group buying. By pooling their money, Good Food Box participants can buy food wholesale and get better prices. Volunteer labour for sorting and packing keeps the prices down. The selection of produce in the box changes according to the season, quality, and affordability at the time. The Good Food Box buys direct from farmers when possible.
What We Do
The Good Food Box deliver boxes, the size of blue recycling boxes, of fresh fruit and vegetables to Host Sites each month.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

During the first three business days of the month you order and pay for your box at the Host Site closest or most convenient to you also you can purchase it online and pay with a credit card or paypal. The boxes are packed and distributed on the third Wednesday and Thursday of each month to the Host Sites. If distribution day is on a holiday, the next day will be scheduled for distribution. The Host Site will then contact you to let you know that your box is ready. Please bring a bag or container to carry your food home in. Payments can be made by cash or cheque at your selected Host Site.

OUR PRICES

Large - $20 This is ideal for a family of 3 or 4
Small - $15 Ideal for 1 or 2 people

I started ordering the good food box and I love it. I always order the Large because for an extra $5 you get much more so it is the best deal in my opinion. I started ordering this last month and it really helps with cutting the cost on a low income.  It just makes sense to me to purchase one as I love my fruit and vegetables.  Here is a picture I took to show you what you can get in it.Saving money is great but you are also supporting your local farmers as well.
